Otontecuhtli<\/strong> was de god van het vuur onder de Azteekse goden<\/a> , deze godheid was verbonden met de wereld van de doden, met name in het ritueel genaamd Xocotl Uetzi,<\/em> omdat het de ziel van offers en dode krijgers vertegenwoordigde, die naar de aarde afdaalden nadat ze de zon hadden vergezeld. .<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Otontecuhtli, de Azteekse god van de offers<\/span><\/h2>\n

De god Otontecuhtli<\/strong> had zwarte banden op zijn gezicht geschilderd, ter hoogte van zijn ogen en zijn mond, haar van papier en een obsidiaanvlinder erop, ook had hij rammelaars en belletjes aan zijn voeten en in zijn hand hield hij een cactuspijl .<\/p>\n

Bovendien manifesteerde de god van het vuur zich in de vorm van een vogel genaamd Xocotl<\/em> , wat “vallen” betekent, wat de genoemde dood symboliseerde.<\/span> De godheid Otontecuhtli<\/strong> was de god van Xocotitlan, de belangrijkste stad van de Mazahuas, de familie Otomi, die een nauwe relatie had met vuur en de wereld van de doden.<\/p>\n

De Otomi en hun sekte<\/h3>\n

De Otomi voerden elke 19 maart een vuurritueel uit in hun naam om het plantseizoen van ma\u00efs te starten, het meest geproduceerde zaad onder de bevolking.<\/p>\n

Dit ritueel werd in de oudste huizen uitgevoerd, daar maakten ze de kachels schoon, daarna versierden ze deze met een plant genaamd jarilla, deze was geel, waarmee ze een kruis maakten dat ze vervolgens in de kachel plaatsten.<\/p>\n

Otontecuhtli<\/strong> was een krijgersgod,  <\/strong> verantwoordelijk voor de pelgrimstocht naar de grot van Chiapan en andere heiligdommen. Deze godheid stond ook bekend als de grote heer van de Omotis. Deze god stond ook bekend als Xiuhtecuhtli, \u2018heer van het jaar\u2019 of de oude god van het vuur. Hij presenteerde zichzelf als een oude man met veel wijsheid die hij in de loop der jaren had verworven.<\/p>\n
