De Maya-beschaving is een van de inheemse samenlevingen die voor die tijd grote uitvindingen hebben gedaan, die vandaag de dag nog steeds als sociaal, cultureel en wetenschappelijk relevant worden beschouwd. De Mayagoden<\/a> staan in hun cultuur bekend als representaties van de grote natuurkrachten die hen wijsheid en steun gaven om zich als beschaving te ontwikkelen. Ix U<\/strong> is een van de belangrijkste goden, aangezien zij de godin van de maan, vrouwelijkheid en liefde was.<\/p>\n

Bij alle Mayagoden<\/a> is er een heerser die macht vertegenwoordigt tegenover de mannelijke goden, dus er is ook een vrouwelijke godheid die soevereiniteit vertegenwoordigt tegenover de andere godinnen. Deze godheid staat bekend als Ix U<\/strong> , de moedergodin. Ze wordt geassocieerd met de maan omdat ze vrouwelijk is en eigenaar is van liefde en rust.<\/p>\n

Ix U<\/strong> staat ook bekend als Ix Chel, deze godin had twee gezichten, zoals de maan, \u00e9\u00e9n waarin ze vriendelijk en moederlijk was, het andere gezicht behoorde tot het vermogen tot vernietiging, om deze reden wordt Ix U<\/strong> in twee aspecten weergegeven, de eerst een mooie jonge vrouw die een konijn op haar knie\u00ebn draagt, wat duidt op het vermogen om zich voort te planten, gezeten onder een halve maan.<\/p>\n

Het tweede aspect van de godin Ix U<\/strong> is dat van een oude vrouw, gekleed in een rok met botten in de vorm van een kruis, die op haar hoofd een slang draagt die wijsheid en occultisme symboliseert. Legenden zeggen dat Ix U<\/strong> overstromingen veroorzaakte, dit kwam doordat de getijden stegen toen de maan naderde, dit was een teken van het ongeluk van Ix U.<\/strong><\/p>\n

De Maya’s keken naar de maangodin om haar eer te bewijzen, het vermogen om gezonde kinderen te verwekken, haar te bedanken voor het leven, wijsheid en mystieke begeleiding te verwerven die in hun leven konden worden toegepast.
