In de Maya-mythologie werd hij voorgesteld als een enkele god, hoewel men ook geloofde dat er vier tegelijk waren en dat hij zo elk van de hoeken van het universum vasthield. Men geloofde ook dat <strong>Pawaht\u00fan<\/strong> in de hemel, de aarde en de onderwereld leefde en daarom waren de gewelven gescheiden en rechtopstaand.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"> Uitvoering van Pawahtun<\/h2>\n<p> Deze godheid werd voorgesteld als een oude man die met opgeheven armen zat en zo de kosmos ondersteunde. Een andere afbeelding van hem was die van een oude man die uit een slakkenhuis tevoorschijn kwam en op dezelfde manier de kosmos ondersteunde met een van zijn armen en die een lotusbloem op zijn hoofd liet groeien. Hij werd ook afgebeeld als een man met een schildpadschild op zijn rug.<\/p>\n<p> Een andere legende geeft aan dat <strong>Pawaht\u00fan<\/strong> familie was van de Bacabob; ze beweren zelfs dat ze dezelfde entiteit zijn. De Bacabob waren vier broers die zich in de uithoeken van de kosmos bevonden en zij waren degenen die hem op zijn plaats hielden, dus de gelijkenis van hun functies zorgde er al snel voor dat ze gingen samenwerken.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"> Pawaht\u00fan&#8217;s relatie met de mensheid<\/h2>\n<p> Naast het hooghouden van de kosmos was <strong>Pawaht\u00fan<\/strong> verantwoordelijk voor het leiden van de laatste vijf dagen van de zonnekalender of \u2018wayeb\u2019, beter bekend als de \u2018beruchte dagen\u2019 of \u2018naamloze dagen\u2019. Omdat deze dagen het einde van een cyclus vertegenwoordigden, begon deze godheid gunsten van verering en genezing te ontvangen, en werd hij ook geraadpleegd over de oogstseizoenen of het weer.<\/p>\n<p> Hij stond ook bekend als beschermer van de schriftgeleerden die alle relevante gebeurtenissen documenteerden en de schilders die de gebeurtenissen met hun werken vereeuwigden.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Pawaht\u00fan , bekend als de god van de \u2018kosmoslader\u2019, was de Maya-god die verantwoordelijk was voor de ondersteuning van zowel het firmament als het aardoppervlak.
