{"id":295,"date":"2023-07-16T15:16:54","date_gmt":"2023-07-16T15:16:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ancientmythology.org\/nl\/ehcatl\/"},"modified":"2023-07-16T15:16:54","modified_gmt":"2023-07-16T15:16:54","slug":"ehcatl","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ancientmythology.org\/nl\/ehcatl\/","title":{"rendered":"\u25b7 eh\u00e9catl \u00bb de god van de wind in de maya-mythologie"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Onder de <a href=\"https:\/\/ancientmythology.org\/nl\/goden-5\/\"><strong>Mayagoden<\/strong><\/a> bevindt zich <strong>Ehecatl,<\/strong> die de god van de wind was, omdat hij met zijn enorme kracht de werking van de wind over de hele aarde kon beheersen en erachter kon komen wat de deelname van deze god was aan de Maya-mythologie.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"> Ehecatl, de god van de wind<\/h2>\n<p> Deze god werd in een van zijn verschijningsvormen ook wel <em>Quetzalc\u014d\u0101tl<\/em> de gevederde slang genoemd, hij mag daarom ook wel <em>Ehcatl-Quetzalcoatl<\/em> genoemd worden, tevens wordt hij beschouwd als een van de belangrijkste scheppers van de wereld.<\/p>\n<p> Een van de Azteekse verhalen legt uit dat toen de vijfde zon werd geschapen, deze aan de hemel vaststond. Hetzelfde geldt voor de maan. Hoe <strong>Ehecatl<\/strong> er ook op blies en ze in beweging bracht, het is ook de taak om het begin aan te kondigen. en het einde van de regen<\/p>\n<p> Hij werd verliefd op een mooie jonge sterveling genaamd May\u00e1huel en het was vanwege zijn liefde voor haar dat hij de mensheid het vermogen gaf om lief te hebben. Deze sterke aantrekkingskracht die ze beiden voelden, werd vertegenwoordigd door een prachtige boom, deze boom staat op dezelfde plek in waarmee <strong>Ehecatl<\/strong> naar de aarde kwam.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"> Iconografie<\/h3>\n<p> <strong>Ehhecatl<\/strong> werd fysiek vertegenwoordigd door een stevige figuur die een puntig rood masker droeg met een enorme schedel en een langwerpige mond waaruit zijn wind kwam.<\/p>\n<p> Legenden vertellen ons dat hij een van de scheppergoden was en dat hij in grote ronde grotten leefde, zodat hij minder weerstand tegen de wind had, waardoor hij zich gemakkelijker kon verplaatsen.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"> Maya-geloof<\/h3>\n<p> Door de eeuwen heen waren de Maya&#8217;s onderworpen aan het geloof van <strong>Ehecatl<\/strong> vanwege zijn grote macht en vanwege de dingen die hij deed bij het cre\u00ebren van de werelden, zoals hij deed met de aarde.
