Hij wordt ook vastgelegd als de god van obsidiaan, ijs, straf en menselijke ellende. De betekenis van zijn naam is \u201cZwaard van \u201cgebogen obsidiaan\u201d, hoewel sommige experts aangeven dat deze vertaling is verkeerd en vertaalt zich als; alles wat vervormd is door de kou.<\/p>\n<h2> <strong>De geboorte van Itzlacoliuhque<\/strong> <\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1459\" src=\"https:\/\/ancientmythology.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/quinze.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"666\" height=\"684\" srcset=\"\" sizes=\"auto, \" title=\"\"><\/p>\n<p> De Mexicaanse traditie zegt dat het allemaal begon met de vroege ochtendgod Tlahuizcalpantecuhtli en de planeet Venus. Hij was een gelukkige en glimlachende god. Er was een dag waarop de <a href=\"https:\/\/ancientmythology.org\/nl\/shamash-zonnegod\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">zonnegod<\/a> Tonatiuh om gehoorzaamheid en offers van de andere goden vroeg voordat hij vertrok.<\/p>\n<p> Dit verstoorde Tlahuizcalpantecuhtli en daarom schoot hij een pijl richting de zon, die de ster niet bereikte.<\/p>\n<p> Tonatiuh geeft de pijl terug aan Tlahuizcalpantecuhtli en deze gaat door zijn hoofd en wordt zo de god van obsidiaan en kou. Hij wordt nu Itzlacoliuhque genoemd.<\/p>\n<p> In andere versies wordt gezegd dat de pijl Tlahuizcalpantecuhtli in steen veranderde.<\/p>\n<h3> <strong>Iconografie van Itzlacoliuhque<\/strong> <\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1457\" src=\"https:\/\/ancientmythology.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/3-5.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"617\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"\" sizes=\"auto, \" title=\"\"><\/p>\n<p> Deze god, die een van de <a href=\"https:\/\/ancientmythology.org\/nl\/tolteekse-goden\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Tolteekse goden<\/strong><\/a> was, wordt beschouwd als een symbool van straf en gerechtigheid, weergegeven met een knuppel en een steen.<\/p>\n<p> De steen: deze wordt gebruikt om overspelers te straffen door ze te stenigen.<\/p>\n<p> De garrote: het wordt gebruikt om dronkaards te veroordelen die met de garrote worden doodgeslagen.<\/p>\n<p> Hij wordt ook weergegeven met een blinddoek die het idee van rechtvaardigheid symboliseert, volgens welke alle wezens (sterfelijk en onsterfelijk) niet aan de straf kunnen ontsnappen.<\/p>\n<h3> <strong>Relaties met andere goden<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p> In de Mexicaanse mythologie bestaat de heilige drie-eenheid uit drie aspecten:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li> De geboorte.<\/li>\n<li> Het leven.<\/li>\n<li> De dood.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> <strong>Itzlacoliuhque<\/strong> vertegenwoordigt de dood, de god <a href=\"https:\/\/ancientmythology.org\/nl\/tezcatlipoca-heer-van-de-hemel-aarde\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tezcatlipoca<\/a> vertegenwoordigt de geboorte en de vrouwelijke tegenhanger van <strong>Itzlacoliuhque<\/strong> is Itzpapaloti.<\/p>\n<p> In andere mythologie\u00ebn zoals die van de Azteken is hij verwant aan <a href=\"https:\/\/ancientmythology.org\/nl\/god-van-mais\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Cint\u00e9otl,<\/a> de god van het ma\u00efs, vanwege de link die hij heeft met de planeet Venus.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In de Tolteekse mythologie staat Itzlacoliuhque bekend als de heer van offers en rampen.
