Daedalus noemde dit land \u201cIcaria\u201d en de zee die daar was noemde hij het \u201czee van <strong>Icarus<\/strong> \u201d in de naam van zijn ongelukkige zoon.<\/p>\n<p> De legende was zo sterk dat er wordt gezegd dat Daedalus op Sicili\u00eb aankwam en zijn vleugels aanbood in de tempel van Apollo en daar een schilderij achterliet met het ongelukkige feit van zijn zoon. Lange tijd werd er ook een tombe getoond in de tempel van Apollo.
