Hij was de eerste mythische koning van de Tartessos-beschaving, de opvolger van de beroemde Gargoris, hij was een afstammeling van Medusa en andere versies beweren dat hij afkomstig was uit de Titan Ocean, zijn kracht was buitengewoon en zijn vee werd verzorgd door zijn herder Eurytion en zijn tweekoppige hond Ortho. <\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-1123\" src=\"https:\/\/ancientmythology.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/Heracles-et-Geryon.webp\" alt=\"Geri\u00f3n\" width=\"324\" height=\"258\" title=\"\" srcset=\"\" sizes=\"auto, \"><\/p>\n<h3> angstaanjagende verschijning<\/h3>\n<p> In de goddelijke komedie van Dante werd <strong>Geryon<\/strong> beschouwd als een beest met de staart van een schorpioen, maar met het gezicht van een eerlijke man die in Phlegeton woonde, aan de rand van de zevende cirkel (die van geweld) die uit de hel neerdaalde.<\/p>\n<p> Volgens sommige fabels was hij geen man met drie lichamen, maar eerder drie broers, die in zo&#8217;n harmonie leefden dat ze leken te handelen gedreven door dezelfde ziel. Bovendien wordt hij soms ge\u00efdentificeerd als een demon van chtonische dood, voornamelijk vanwege de associatie met de leiding van het wilde westen.<\/p>\n<h3> Dood van koning Geryon<\/h3>\n<p> Volgens de <strong>Griekse mythologie<\/strong> wordt er gezegd dat <strong>Geri\u00f3n<\/strong> wraak ging zoeken op <a href=\"https:\/\/ancientmythology.org\/nl\/heracles\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Heracles<\/a> , met wie hij vocht, maar hij schoot hem een pijl af, vergiftigd met het gif van de <a href=\"https:\/\/ancientmythology.org\/nl\/lernaische-hydra\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">hydra<\/a> die door zijn drie lichamen trok en hem afmaakte.<\/p>\n<p> <strong>Geri\u00f3n<\/strong> wilde Heracles niet aanvallen, maar toen hij zag dat hij zijn land ging stelen, probeerde hij terug te krijgen wat er met geweld van hen was afgenomen, waardoor een einde kwam aan zijn leven. <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-1125\" src=\"https:\/\/ancientmythology.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/gerion-et-orthrus.webp\" alt=\"\" width=\"246\" height=\"327\" srcset=\"\" sizes=\"auto, \" title=\"\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In deGriekse mythologie werd Geri\u00f3n beschouwd als een mythische koning van de beschaving, evenals als een monsterlijke reus, zoon van Chrysaor en Callirroe, kleinzoon van Medusa .
