In der keltischen Mythologie<\/a> war Ogmios<\/strong> (auch bekannt als: Ogma, Oghma, Ogm\u00e9, Ogmia) der Urgott, der die Menschen mit den G\u00f6ttern vereinte. Dar\u00fcber hinaus gilt er als Gott des Wissens, der Literatur und der Beredsamkeit; Ihm wird auch die Schaffung des Ogham-Alphabets und der Ogham-Schrift zugeschrieben.<\/p>\n

Zu seinen vielen Zuschreibungen geh\u00f6rt, dass er der Gott des Nachthimmels und insbesondere der Eide war. Als Gott der Beredsamkeit verband er den Beschw\u00f6rer mit den gegebenen Worten, was eine wichtigere Grundlage f\u00fcr die Bestrafung des Meineids bildete, dessen Tr\u00e4ger er war soziale Bedrohung f\u00fcr die alten Kelten.<\/p>\n

Ogmi-Darstellung<\/h2>\n

Diese Gottheit wird als kahlk\u00f6pfiger alter Mann beschrieben, der ein L\u00f6wenfell trug und neben anderen Waffen einen Streitkolben, einen Bogen und einen K\u00f6cher trug. Er wird auch als alter Mann dargestellt, der Hunderte von M\u00e4nnern an den Ohren durch Goldketten zieht, die ebenfalls mit der durchbohrten Zunge des Gottes verbunden sind. Er wird h\u00e4ufig mit anderen r\u00f6mischen G\u00f6ttern wie Herkules und Hermes<\/a> in Verbindung gebracht.<\/p>\n

Ogmios‘ Beziehung zur Menschheit<\/h2>\n

Als Gott des Wissens galt er als bevorzugter Gott der Druiden, da er die Macht der Sprache repr\u00e4sentiert. F\u00fcr die alten Druiden besa\u00dfen Sprache und Reden gro\u00dfe Macht, weshalb sie als esoterisch galten und zu wichtig waren, als dass man sie irgendjemandem beibringen konnte.<\/p>\n

Als Gottheit, die Beredsamkeit symbolisiert, wurde er vor dem Kampf angerufen, um Soldaten zu ermutigen und anzufeuern, was dem Gott eine kriegerische Natur verlieh.<\/p>\n

Als Vertreter der Macht der Sprache war er der Garant f\u00fcr Eide und bestrafte diejenigen, die vergebliche W\u00fcnsche \u00e4u\u00dferten.
