Dar\u00fcber hinaus galt er auch als Herr der wilden Tiere, Land- und Wassertiere, deren Hauptmerkmale St\u00e4rke, Macht und Vaterschaft sind Deshalb wurde er mit dem Gott Apollo<\/a> und dem Gott Merkur verwechselt.<\/p>\n

Dieser Gott ist auch als Gabengeber, Herr des Tanzes bekannt und mit seinen m\u00e4chtigen H\u00f6rnern war er f\u00fcr die Pflege des Waldes verantwortlich, ebenso galt er als Meister der Jagd, obwohl er in einigen Kulturen als Gott gilt des Todes, da er die Seelen der Toten in die Unterwelt brachte, genauso wie er in einem europaweiten Hexenkult hoch verehrt wurde.<\/p>\n

Daher wurde seine Figur von der mittelalterlichen Kirche verteufelt, die Namen erhielt wie: Luzifer, Satan oder Teufel.<\/p>\n

Cernunnos<\/strong> wird aufgrund seiner Eigenschaften als \u201e Der Gr\u00fcne Gott<\/em> \u201c auch als nat\u00fcrliche Figur assoziiert, seine Figur findet sich derzeit in vielen k\u00fcnstlerischen Darstellungen, wie zum Beispiel in der europ\u00e4ischen Architektur.<\/p>\n

Seine Figur und seine Geschichte inspirierten aufgrund seiner gro\u00dfartigen Qualit\u00e4ten viele Autoren der Fantasy-Literatur des 20. Jahrhunderts.<\/p>\n

Dies ist der Fall bei Margaret Murrays Buch mit dem Titel \u201e Der Gott der Hexen<\/em> \u201c, das 1931 geschrieben wurde und die Geschichte von Herne erz\u00e4hlt, einem J\u00e4ger, der Cernunnos vertritt.<\/strong><\/p>\n
